9 top tools for customer lists

Well, this is where the fun begins.

  1. Apps Run the World - a database of thousands of companies and their applications. It is not comprehensive, but it can be a good source alongside other sites listed here.
  2. BuiltWith is a longstanding, comprehensive list of companies' outward-facing applications; it relies on HTML scrapes to show applications that have some website integration.
  3. Enlyft is another helpful list of companies using a selected technology.
  4. Featured Customers - aggregates the critical customers of technology vendors from public sources such as their case study pages, customer logo pages and other web sources.
  5. G2 Stack is a review site for technology products. It is not primarily intended for customer lists, but customers can be inferred from some of the reviews.
  6. Google case studies—Plain old Google searches like this and related variations can attract many of a competitor's customers.
  7. NerdyData - another HTML scraper that deduces what technology a company uses from what appears on that company's website.
  8. PublicWWW - like NerdyData, BuiltWith and others, PublicWWW searches HTML code for evidence of technology products being used.
  9. SimilarWeb is not as comprehensive as some of the others here. SimilarWeb also uses web code to determine what technology a site is using.
